Two little islands in the sea
Get To Know Us
The Antigua and Barbuda Association of BC was birthed in the kitchen of two Antiguan women, Bernice Crump and Rosemary Morrissey over 20 years ago. These two women recognized the importance of community and had a vision of bringing Antiguans and Barbudans in the lower mainland together. The idea was well received and with the help of Antiguans and Barbudans across the lower mainland the first event was planned, a picnic in Confederation Park in Burnaby. As the community gathered together they were soon met with BC rain and thunder storms. The picnic quickly moved to the nearest Antiguan’s home, where the festivities continued and the idea of the association quickly grew. Our community members came together to make the association what it is today and worked hard and tirelessly to ensure every event was a success. The first president Neville Thomas registered the association in 2000 and the rest as they say is history. The Antigua and Barbuda Association of BC is about people, community and most of all unity.
